Who are we?

The Drexel Entrepreneurial Association is an organization dedicated to providing members with the resources and skills necessary to become entrepreneurial. Entrepreneurship is all about knowing how to start up a business or campaign, and then structuring it into a business that is able to generate revenue while also being able to see what others have done in the past in route to obtaining success in their respective entrepreneurial pursuits. On top of the skills and resources, we understand that networking is key for success in any pursuit within the business world, so we work to help facilitate the creation of strong networks within the business world. We are dedicated to provide students with those opportunities, while also facilitating business growth and production within the organization.

What do we do?

We are a group of students who share the same common ideals: we want to be successful and we want to actively start up businesses. To do this, we are actively involved within the Philadelphia community, with business and social activities, as well as creating similar opportunity within the Drexel community.

To maximize this involvement and connection, we first train students to be leaders in innovation and then leverage that ability to be able to actively start up campaigns and projects in a variety of areas. This tends to lead to a variety of activities, new events and a new demographic of speakers and opportunities for all members.

When did we start?

The Drexel Entrepreneurial Association was started by two ambitious Drexel students, Shams Naim and Jason Wisdom in the winter of 2007. The group has since flourished and become a very diverse student organization on Drexel University’s main campus.

Why did we?

The two felt the need of an entrepreneurial group on campus that would regularly meet and pool together ideas to leverage the business community while allowing Drexel students to partake in a variety of activities to maximize their chances to succeed during and after graduating Drexel University. The two also felt the need to have an opportunity to experience things that weren’t necessarily taught in the class, thus amplifying their learning experience at Drexel.

The Drexel Entrepreneurial Association looks forward to hosting more events in the future, especially those that interest the student population at Drexel.
